My grandfather, the patriarch of our family and a successful accountant and CFO influenced countless early memories in my life. I learned of fishing, golf, IU basketball, budgeting, and more importantly how to treat people. Unfortunately, one of the best lessons learned was after his passing, I discovered that money can change people. I was firsthand witness to a complicated, lengthy, costly, and emotional estate settlement that left our family forever changed. Had proper planning been completed during his lifetime, this uncomfortable situation could have been avoided. My hope is that with careful, collaborative, and compassionate planning, my clients will avoid the same unfortunate situation which befell my own family. This difficult situation inspired me to dedicate my career to assisting high net worth families and business owners to build, protect, manage, and transition wealth from one generation to the next.
